About Us
Youth Empowerment Alliance (YEA) is local Non-Governmental Organization based in Hiran region, Somalia since its establishment in 2000 after the phase out of the international community in 1990 by a group of Youth of Hiran region with a wide range of the Somali culture.
The organization was established to advocate for the youth in basic social services in Health, Education, Sanitation, Peace and human rights and towards developmental progress.
YEA is a youth led-initiative that empowers youth organizations and young people from different regions across Somalia, on issues that affect their lives. It provides opportunities for young people to explore different skills and develop their leadership potential through trainings, workshops and community developmental programs.
YEA also believes that well-equipped and empowered youth with adequate capacities and competences can create a peaceful and prosperous future for the communities and the nation.
